I am currently working on renovating the old Mark Addy Pub in Manchester into a co-working space, and on today's schedule was to develop my own brand idea for my concept.
My design is based around the theme of biophilia and sustainability, and I wanted that to come across in both the name and the design. As it is first and foremost a working environment, my initial idea was to name it 'Trees of Knowledge'; however the design ideas didn't seem to match the image I wanted to present! I then considered using a play on words, to combine both a 'work of art' and the famous 'garden of Eden,' to create 'Work of Eden.' I liked the way it sounded, and I felt it created a sense of paradise within a modern day workplace.
I drew up many different design ideas, knowing I wanted to incorporate both books and nature into my design. I finally decided on my initial idea, and proceeded to draw up a template for my design using Sketchable. I then imported it into Photoshop where I added more detail and textures. I downloaded a font online to match my concept, and after adding a few shadows it was finished! I was really pleased with the result, as it came out much better than my initial idea for the logo. Now all that's left to do is to design the actual building!
