Specialist Design Project: AutoCAD Rendering

My main focus today was to have a finished and rendered floor plan for the Work of Eden co-working space.

I had created a rendered floor plan using AutoCAD and Photoshop over the weekend; during my tutorial today I was given useful feedback for small ways I could improve my final design, such as changing the elevator size, relocating and readjusting the bathroom facilities, and restyling the catering area. We also agreed that in my outdoor terraced area I needed to add something to fill the open space in the middle of the plan.

After taking this into consideration, I was able to incorporate all these suggestions into my final design, by making the bathroom unisex to allow for more space, create a more spacious catering space, and improving the elevator space by reducing the size and adding more foliage to the space.

In regards to the outdoor terraced area, I decided that the perfect addition to a 'garden of Eden' workspace would be a waterfall wall. The sound of water is known to create a more relaxed, meditative environment, and having it in an outdoor area will also be a natural cooler during warmer seasons.

I am extremely pleased with the outcome of my final floor plan, and Sarah's suggestions were very useful! Here I have shown what my original 'finished' floor plan looked like, and what my improved floor plan is now.
