Specialist Design Project- Furniture Layout Sketches

Today I was able to finish the furniture layout sketches displaying which products I have added to each space of the Mark Addy building.

The first sketch I did was of the catering area, where members can either prepare food they've brought from home, or serve themselves from the catering selections available. There is also locker space for members to protect their valuables when they're not in use.

I also did a sketch of the hanging pods as part of the recreational area, adding in my own bespoke cushion designs. This drawing was definitely the most challenging, as I wanted to make sure the shape and material of my hanging pods would clearly be seen.

The final drawing of my furniture layout designs was the reception area on the ground floor. Although the all the furniture had been utilised in alternate locations, I felt it was important to display your first visuals as you walk into the building; particularly the logo displayed as soon enter.

Overall, drawing out each room in perspective has been extremely useful to me. I was able to see if furniture needed relocating, if the biophilic concept was accurately perceived, as well as simply developing and improving my drawing skills.
